Claudia Kyzar Obituary

In the early morning hours of February 2, 2018, surrounded by her family, Claudia Marie (Huls) Kyzar, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior and to be greeted by her heavenly family.

Claudia was born on April 26, 1955 in Boise City, Oklahoma to Herman C. "Jr." and Mareta Huls. In January of 1962, she became a big sister when Darlene was born. Darlene would always affectionately refer to Claudia as "Clyde".

Claudia was raised in Boise City and graduated from Boise City High School with the class of 1973. People who knew her well will remember her working as a cook and waitress at the 66 Café when she was younger. In the 1980s, she worked at Love's where she met her husband, Ricky Kyzar. They were married in a small family ceremony at her grandmother, Rena Fenstermacher's, home in Boise City on December 1, 1984.

Claudia and Ricky spent many years as over-the-road truck drivers and then decided to settle down and make their home in Boise City to be close to her family. Ricky continued to drive truck while Claudia worked as manager at the Shell Truck Stop for several years. After leaving the truck stop, Claudia spent much of her time in Trinidad, Colorado staying with her sister, Darlene Owens, helping and spending time with her when she wasn't on the truck with Ricky.

After a truck accident in 2011, Claudia and Ricky moved to Midland, Texas to be near her niece, Misty Anguiano and nephew, Sonny Owens. Ricky was employed in the oil and gas industry until he was diagnosed with ALS in September 2015. Shortly after they moved to Midland, Darlene's husband, Stanley, was transferred to Midland and, over the next couple of years, they enjoyed traveling together. They traveled to Biloxi, Mississippi to spend some time on the Gulf Coast and also made a trip to Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee with the highlight being a trip to Graceland. Claudia and Darlene would often go antiquing while the guys went on fishing trips.

Claudia enjoyed spoiling her nieces and nephews. When Darlene's children were little, she would always have Junior Mints and chewing gum in her purse for them. She always made sure the kids had the newest and noisiest toys she could find. Claudia loved baking cookies at the holidays or trying out new recipes for family get-togethers. She was always there to help when she was needed no matter what, always just a phone call way.

Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, and grandparents, Paul and Rena Fenstermacher.

Claudia is survived by her husband and beloved furry daughter, Tinker Marie of the home; her sister Darlene Owens and husband, Stanley, of Midland, Texas; stepsons, Ricky Lynn Kyzar and wife, Wanda, of Forrest, Mississippi, and children, Alacia, Ricky Lynn, Jr., Shawn, Arial and Madison; and Aaron Kyzar of Morton, Mississippi and daughter, Katie. She is also survived by her niece, Misty Anguiano of Midland, Texas and children, Art "Bubba", Mendi Jo, Melani, and Adrianna; nephews, Sonny Owens and wife Robin of Midland, Texas and children, Elizabeth, Audrie, Alex, Natalie and Madison; Cody Owens and wife Kecia of Boise City, Oklahoma and children, Kindra, Nadyca, Sariah and Creed; and Stephen Owens and wife Estella of Trinidad, Colorado and children Benjamin and Adin. Claudia is also survived by a sister-in-law, Pat Singleton of Forest, Mississippi and a brother-in-law, John Kyzar of Forest, Mississippi.
