Ramona S. Polanco, 92, of Midland, Texas, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, October 3, 2016. She was born in Colorado City, Texas on December 21, 1923 to Marin Sauceda and Lina Martinez. Ramona was a non-denominational faith and was a faithful servant to the Lord. She worked in the medical field for over 30 years. She was a life-time resident of West Texas including Pecos, Big Spring, and her final rest stop in Midland. In addition to her parents, Ramona was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters; her husband, Juan Polanco; daughter, Cherri Josette Polanco; two infant sons; two grandsons, Mark Anthony Torres and Stephen Torres; and by three great-grandchildren, Ashley Macias, Joseph Mata Gomez, and Juan Gabriel Guevara. She is survived by four daughters, Sylvia Polanco, Margurette Davis, Cynthia Torrez and husband Alex, and Ema Wilson and husband Mike; one sister, Mary Mock; and by one brother, Hiram Luna. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren to carry on her wonderful memories: 12 grandchildren, Carlos Mata, Jr., Johnny Mata, Josette Mata, Michele Chavez, Danielle Darden, Sandra Torres, Justin Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, Shanna Garciaroiz, Estela Guevara, Israel Guevara, and Gabriel Guevara; and by 25 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. A vigil service will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Heavenly Gate Funeral Home, 405 N. Terrell. Funeral service will take place on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Heavenly Gate Funeral Home. Burial will follow to Serenity Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Guevara, Ethan Zubiate, Johnny Zubiate, Kristopher Garciaroiz, Nabar Hernandez, Joe Garciaroiz, and Alex Torres. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlos Mata, Jr., Johnny Mata, Abraham Mata Gomez, and Israel Guevara, Jr. Funeral service is under the direction of Heavenly Gate Funeral Home and Chapel.
