Jose Luis Lopez

Jose Luis Lopez, (55) passed away on January 9, 2024. Jose was born in El Paso on August 1, 1968, but grew up in Midland, Texas. Jose was a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend to everyone. His selflessness and generosity touched the lives of many. He was the oldest of seven. Through his life “Joe or El Bello” as many knew him was always willing to help others. He was blessed with 3 children that had the privilege of calling him dad as well as many nephews and nieces that he raised as his own. He loved a good smoke and a cold Coke, watching wrestling, playing scratch off lottery tickets, horse races, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends among many other things. 

He is survived by his parents: Ramon Lopez Sr. and Estela Lopez; Daughters; Jasmine Arizpe and husband Jose Arizpe, Abby Rubio; Son; Jose Manuel Lopez and wife Thalia Lopez. Brothers Ramon Lopez Jr. and wife Guadalupe Lopez, Juan Lopez and wife Maria Lopez, Marcelo Lopez and wife Diana Lopez, Esteban Lopez and wife Yesenia Galindo; Sisters Erica Hernandez and husband Juan Hernandez, Lupita Lopez and husband Kaden Williams; Grandchildren; Leah Lopez, Austin Lopez, Luna Lopez, JJ Arizpe, Josiah Arizpe; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins. 

Pallbearers for the service will be Jose Manuel Lopez, Ramon Lopez Jr., Juan Lopez, Esteban Lopez, Jesus “Jessie” Baeza, Jorge Rubio, Noe Zuniga, Octavio Natera, Omar Natera. Honorary Pallbearer is Ramon Lopez Sr.

Viewing and services will be held at Iglesia Emanuel 1800 Cherry Ln, Midland, TX 79701. Viewing will take place on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. also at Iglesia Emanuel, 1800 Cherry Ln, Midland, TX 79701. A burial will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens.  

The family would like to express their immense gratitude to the Midland Memorial ICU staff for their kindness, loving care, and support. 

While Jose left us far too soon, the impact he made in those he knew will be felt for years to come.
