Clarence L. Dunson of Midland, Texas entered eternal rest Friday, January 13, 2017. He was born October 23, 1933 in Franklin, Texas to Violet Watson and Estes Dunson Sr., and moved to Midland in 1951. He was the longtime sole owner and operator of Dunson's Café, well known and patronized for the best homemade, family cooking in the area. Cooking was his passionate labor of love; gifted to family, friends and his community. Those preceding him in death include parents; siblings, Mildred Allen and Estes Dunson Jr.; and sons, Henry Robertson, Melvin and Edwin Dunson. He leaves behind in Midland his remaining children, Gloria Burton, Sandra, Marsha and Joseph Dunson, and Edward Dunson of Dallas, TX.; their mother, Janie Roberts; siblings, Ralph Dunson Sr. of Midland, TX, Emma Aycox and Dinah Hendrix of Bremond, TX; a host of grandchildren, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. The Home-Going service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017 at Greater New Hope Baptist Church, 2400 E. New York Ave., Midland, TX. 79701.
