Rumaldo (Ray) Rios Navarro, Sr., of Midland, Texas, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday August 26, 2017. Revelation 22:13: I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. God saw it fit to send his Angel of mercy to carry his son on their wings and bring him home. Proud to be his son he said, "Lord I am ready." On Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 6:30 p.m., a Celebration of Life worship service will be held at Lewallen Garcia Pipkin Funeral Home. Funeral service will also be held there on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Martin Ortega Officiating. Graveside services will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Rumaldo was born on May 20, 1924 in Jourdanton, Texas to Felix and Ernesta Navarro. He married the love of his life, Mickaela Flores, in San Angelo, Texas on June 4, 1949. Rumaldo was a member of Iglesia Bautista Emanuel for 56 years. Rumaldo loved the Lord and served in many areas: Sunday school teacher, choir, youth counselor, mission trips to Mexico, church bus driver, Vacation Bible School, and volunteering in other mission action projects. He had a passion for hymns, always singing, playing his guitar and harmonica. He loves singing with his family and his wonderful church friends. He enjoyed baking and cooking. His last occupation was in the Sanitation Department for the City of Midland. We will miss all of his funny stories and great sense of humor. He loved his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Throughout the years, he spent many hours getting them to and from school and always with a snack in the backseat. He always encouraged us to love the Lord with all our hearts, go to church, pray, and read the Bible. Rumaldo is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Mickaela Flores Navarro; son, Rumaldo (Ray) Navarro, Jr. and wife Margie of Midland; daughters, Lucy(Lulu) Navarro, Nancy Navarro Aguirre and husband Ronnie, and Cindy Megan Navarro, all of Midland, and Elizabeth Ann Navarro of Odessa, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah, Johnny, Michael Ray, Fabian, Kaela, and Alina; and by13 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.
