Sammy "Sambo" Vasquez-Urias, 24 from Midland, Texas passed away early Wednesday December 23, 2020. Born on February 26, 1996 in Midland Tx to Samuel and Ivetthe Vasquez. Sambo was the brother of Geovani, Albert (Yakelin Vidallana) and Alex Vasquez. He was the grandson of maternal grandparents Gilberto and María Cruz Urias and preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Herminio and Isidra Vasquez. Sambo was a wonderful uncle to 4 nephews Brenden, Abram, Liam and Zayden and to one niece Mia. He loved his uncles, aunts, cousins and his friends. He attended Midland Senior High School after graduating he decided to attend barber school in San Antonio TX, he attended Alamo City Barber College where he obtained his barber licenses. He quickly became a member of "Clipper Mafia". His skills led him to become a legacy doing what we all know he loved to do, giving everyone a fresh cut and earning the name of "Sambo the Barber" to all his clientele, friends and family. Anybody who crossed his path instantly gravitated towards his humorous personality, caring spirit, pure heart, and bright beautiful soul. His mantra "Family over everything" will continue to live on through his family. He enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends. There was no dull moment when you were around Sambo. Sambo will be missed immensely by all who knew him.
The viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm at Heavenly Gates Funeral Home.
Rosary will be Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 7:00 pm.
Funeral mass is set at St Ann's Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 31, 2020.
Burial will be at Serenity Gardens Cemetery.
