Alex Ortega

Alex A. Ortega, 31, of Midland, passed away January 9, 2017. The rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 13, 2017 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens. Alex was born July 12, 1985 in Midland to Tiburcio "BB" and Leticia Ortega. He was currently employed at Impact Chemical Technologies for the last six years. He was the life of the party and people knew when he arrived with his "whoo!" He loved his children and his wife. He was very involved in his kids' sports. Alex enjoyed BBQing and claimed that he made the best ribs in town! His presence will be missed. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Alfredo Sanchez, and his paternal grandparents, Tiburcio, Sr. and Patricia Ortega. He is survived by his parents, Tiburcio, Jr. "BB" and Leticia Ortega; his wife, Bianca Ortega; his children, Arissa, Brisa, Alex "son," Madison, and his baby Gabriel; his maternal grandmother, Lucila Sanchez; his sisters, Sonya Salcido (Heriberto) and Carolyn Castaneda (Tim); his brother, David Ortega; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be David Ortega and Orlando Barraza. Pallbearers will be Tiu Castaneda, Alfred Sanchez, Ricardo Nieto, Eddie Villalobos, Lorenzo Reyes, and Edward Sanchez.
