Alicia Romero Mena Obituary

Alicia Romero Mena,

53 of Midland, TX,  passed away on June 7,2024.

Alicia was born & raised in Midland, TX. She attended Midland High School and graduated from Aladdin Beauty College.

Alicia was a strong, loving, caring and selfless woman. She was an amazing painter and avid crafter. Any time she had an opportunity to make something beautiful, she did. Alicia loved anything that was sparkly and shiny, and she always tried to make things “bling.” She dedicated her time to her church, making flower arrangements and making holidays special for all the church members and her family. Alicia spent her Wednesdays cooking for the kids that attended church and made sure they had a delicious homemade meal.  Alicia loved all the kids like her own and was known to everyone as “Wita” or “Mamma Mena.” Alicia was a hair stylist for many years and was dedicated to her profession and loved to make people feel beautiful. Alicia was a fun and great coworker to many people along the way and made many wonderful friends. Alicia was incredible at making anyone she met feel loved and valued, no matter how they came into her life. She had so much love to share and made a point to do that with everyone she encountered.

Alicia met her husband Jose Alfredo Mena in 1990, and they later got married on June 3, 2000. They had four children, Toni Chanel Romero-Ramirez, Joshua Andrew Romero, Alfredo Mena Jr., and Lucero Mena. She has 12 grand kids she loved dearly: Kellsee Dills, Manuel Lara, Cesar Juarez, Fabian Romero, Nathan Escajeda, Joshua Andrew Romero Jr, Brayden Romero, Brianna Martinez, Araceli Martinez, Carlitos Martinez, Hunter Mena, and Madison Mena. Alicia’s true love was spending time with her family; she loved her children but adored her grandchildren even more.

Alicia is survived by her brothers Ruben Romero, Delfino Martinez, Oscar Ronquillo Jr, Christian Ronquillo and Sisters Elfida Ronquillo, Gracie Ramirez, Oralia Oropeza, Sylvia Nevarez, Estella Ramirez, Ida Romero, Yolanda Flores & Helen Flores.

Alicia is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Alfredo Mena, her father, Manuel Romero, her mother, Alicia Montanez, her step-father, Oscar Ronquillo, and her brothers, Manuel Romero Jr and Benjamin Romero.
