Charlotte Ann Wingfield Hammon, of Midland, Texas, passed away in the early morning of Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Midland. She was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to William and Velma Wingfield on July 26, 1942. As a child, her family moved several times and settled in Kermit, Texas. She graduated from Kermit High School in 1960 and soon married Alvin D. Hammon on August 28, 1959. They were married 55 years until he passed away in July 2014. Charlotte is survived by two sons, Gregg Hammon and wife Michelle of Midland, and Michael Hammon and wife Rachel Korzenny of Palo Alto, California. Charlotte was the proud grandmother of three grandchildren, Alexandra Hammon of Las Vegas, Nevada, Cordell Hammon of Midland, and Samuel Hammon of Palo Alto. Charlotte was very proud to have owned and operated a Baskin Robbins in Odessa, Texas for 10 years. She also spoke often of her work as a model and sales clerk at JC Penny during the early years of her marriage. She was an avid collector of fine antique furniture with which she furnished her home. Her struggles and pain are over and she is resting peacefully now with her husband, mother, and sister. Family will receive friends Monday, May 8, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. A funeral service is set for Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens.
