Cruz De La O

Cruz De La O, 78, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Midland Memorial Hospital. Cruz was born January 18, 1938 in Barstow, Texas to the late Liberato and Julia De La O. He was raised and educated in Midland. Cruz met and later married the late Celia Duran in 1997. Cruz enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his son, his family, and friends. He was a very hard worker. He was a Catholic. Cruz was preceded in death by his wife, Celia De La O; his parents, Liberato and Julia De La O; and by one brother, Ramon De La O. He is survived by his son, Cruz De La O, Jr. of Midland; three brothers, Liberato De La O, Jr., also of Midland, and Adolfo De La O and David De La O, both of Odessa, Texas; four sisters, Anita Marin of Odessa, Gloria Villarreal of Midland, and Julia Villa and Hortencia Chairez, both of Odessa; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Viewing will be Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. An evening service will also be Sunday, June 19, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Funeral service is set for Monday, June 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel.
