David Arrieta Obituary

David Tavarez Arrieta, 82, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 18, 2017. David will be greatly missed for he was a beloved father and grandfather. Words cannot express how much he will be missed. David lived in Midland for over 50 years. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather who gave his all when he could. He was a proud hard worker and for most part of his life worked in the oil field, even up until one year before his passing as a hot shot truck driver. David was married to Diana Postas Arrieta for 64 years. Together they raised their son, David, and daughter, Elizabeth, providing and enjoying many times of love, laughter and strength through life. David enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, teaching them to "be tough!" and giving his time and devotion to them when he could. He also enjoyed watching Dallas Cowboys, wrestling, going to the movies, and being around his family. Together, David and Diana have moved through life with a generosity of strength and heartfelt for each other and strong spirit that has touched many other lives. He has left us to join those who have gone before him into the Lord's hands. He is with his father, Jose Arrieta; his mother, Guadalupe T. Arrieta; and his brothers, Daniel and Jose Aririeta, Jr. David will be forever missed by his devoted and loving wife, Diana; son, David, Jr. and wife Lupe of Midland; daughter, Elizabeth Archuleta and husband Henry of Roswell; granddaughter, Greta Von Paumgartten of Austin with his great-grandchildren David, James, and Sarah; granddaughter, Chrisy Valero and husband Mercedes of Midland with his great-grandson Mercedes, Jr.; granddaughter, Jennifer Lujan-Perez and husband Felix of Austin with great-granddaughter Eva; grandson, David Erik Arrieta of Georgetown with great-grandchildren Brianna, Serenity, and Jacob; sister-in-law, Tere Chalambaga of Sanderson, Twexas; and by several nieces and nephews. Viewing will be Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service is set for Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be Henry Archuleta, Felix Perez, Jr., David Erik Arrieta, Mercedes Valero, Sr., Mercedes Valero, Jr., David Von Paumgartten, and David Jacob Arrieta. Honorary pallbearer is James Von Paumgartten. Funeral service is under the direction of Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel. Cemetery Details Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery 6800 S.
