Eva Marin Rubio

Eva Rubio, 80 from Midland, Texas went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 8, 2026. Eva was born in Cuthbert, Texas but was raised in Monahans, Tx. She later moved to Midland with her mother.  

She loved working with children, especially babies. Eva really loved holding, rocking and singing to her babies that she worked with. She even treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children and grandchildren. she also loved singing coritos and loved to clap her hands to the beat of the music. Eva loved taking pictures with family and friends, especially at her birthday parties. Eva was also lovingly known as “Tia Eva,” Miss Eva or Granny Eva. They gave her the name Granny Eva when she began working as a Foster Grandparent at DeZavala Elementary School here in Midland, Tx. Her greatest accomplishment was when she won the Foster Grandparent Volunteer of the Year Awawrd in May 2021.    

Eva married the Love of her Life on July 7, 1973. She had two children, Joe and Angie. In June 2023, they had the honor and privilege to celebrate 50  blessed years.    

Eva is survived by her husband Jose Sabino Rubio, Sr. and her daughter Rosa Angelica Rubio. She is also survived by three sisters, Paula Enriquez, Lydia Natividad, and Maria Hernandez. Brothers. Daniel Marin and Joel Marin and a host of nieces and nephews.    

She is preceded in death by her Mother, Maximina Estorga and her Father Jose Marin. She is also preceded in death by her son Jose Sabino Rubio, Jr, (Joe) , Sisters, Esther Orozco, Gloria Rodriquez and brothers Vicente Marin, Moises Marin, Isabel Marin, Obed Marin, Elias Marin and David Marin.    

Viewing will be on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 pm at Heavenly Gate Funeral Home and Chapel where Pastor David Natividad will officiate the service.  

Funeral will be Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 10:00 am at Primera Iglesia Bautista located at 507 N. Tyler. Pastor Manuel DeLaRosa will officiate the service.  

Burial will follow at Serenity Memorial Garden. Pallbearers will be Eric Campos, Rolan Hernández. Rubén Hernández, Arturo Marín, Nicolás Marín, Willie Robinson, Isaiah Robledo and Abel Rodriquez.    

The family would like to express gratitude to the congregation at Primera Iglesia Bautista and to the congregation of Iglesia Pacto de Alabanza y Amistad and to family and friends that have brought food, donated money and most of all their outpouring of prayers and love. We are grateful to you all, we love you all.
