Francisca Ramirez Villafranco

Francisca Ramirez Villafranco, 81, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 in Midland, Texas. Francisca was born in Ruidosa, Texas on March 9, 1935 to Fedronio Ramirez and Felipa Galindo Ramirez. She was raised in Levelland, Texas and was one of nine children. She married Vicente Paderes Villafranco, Jr. on August 5, 1952 and she was a beloved wife and mother to eight children and, for many years, moved from ranch to ranch with her children and husband who worked as a farm hand, until finally settling in Midland. Francisca was a homemaker most of her life raising her children. Francisca is survived by her three sons and two daughters, Manuel Villafranco, Francisca Villafranco Lujan, Pete Villafranco, Guadalupe Villafranco, and Josie Villafranco Armendariz; and by two brothers, Jesse Ramirez and Fedronio Ramirez. Francisca was a grandmother to 14 grandchildren, Tony Marquez, Vicente Villafranco, IV, Sylvia Arzavala Rodriguez, Mary Arzavala, Simon Villafranco, Lydia Lujan, Emily Villafranco, Manuel Villafranco, Jr., Andy Villafranco, Coney Lujan, Alex Villafranco, Cristobal Villafranco, Jr., Megan Villafranco and Dylan Villafranco; she was also blessed with 32 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vicente Paderes Villafranco, Jr.; three children, Maria Villafranco Arzavala, Vicente Villafranco, III, and Cristobal Villafranco; and by six brothers and sisters. Viewing will be Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary starting at 7:00 p.m., at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish & Shrine on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens.
