Gilberto Urias Alvarado from Midland, Texas passed away March 18, 2025.

Gilberto A. Urias, 79, of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 21, 1946, to Andres Urias Ramos and Romelia Alvarado, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His profession is to practice law in Mexico. Using his knowledge and compassion to help others.  

He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Maria Cruz Urias-Urias, and together they were blessed with five wonderful children. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was the foundation of the family. Always full of love and storytelling, he never missed an opportunity to share memories of the past, inspiring and uniting everyone around him. He had a passion for collecting historical items from all around the world. 

Gilberto was known for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. His presence undeniably brought warmth and joy to everyone around him. He always had a joke to share, regardless of the situation, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He will be survived by his wife and children, Romelia Almanza, Ivetthe Vasquez, and Andres Urias, all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews. 

He will reunite with his parents and two of his children Gilberto Urias and Ivanhoe Urias and grandson Samuel Vasquez-Urias.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. The family welcomes all who knew him to join in remembering the incredible man he was. 

The viewings will be held at Heavenly Gate Funeral Home (405 North Terrell St., Midland, TX 79701) over the weekend:

•Saturday, March 22, 2025 – 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM

•Sunday, March 23, 2025 – 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM

•The Rosary will take place on Sunday at 7:00 PM.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church (1906 W Texas Ave Midland, TX 79701), 

followed by the burial at Serenity Memorial Garden Cemetery (6800 TX-349, Midland, TX 79706).
