Glenn Roger Sanders, 78 of Midland, Texas passed on to be with our heavenly father on Friday, November 6, 2020.
He was born in Hamlin, Texas before moving to Midland where he attended Midland High School. He was accepted into the Midland Fire Department rookie school in 1968 and then becoming a Firefighter for the Midland Fire Department in 1969. He enjoyed being a firefighter for 26 years, retiring in 1994. His last duty station was at the Midland International Airport as a lead driver of one of the crash unit trucks. He thoroughly enjoyed being a fireman immensely. He also enjoyed making wonderful memories hunting and fishing with family and friends. He enjoyed time working on his land south of town, taking care of his chickens, mule, cats, and dogs to. He lived to have those wonderful times. Everyone that knew Glenn enjoyed how he would make you laugh telling funny stories and jokes. All that knew him will miss that the most about him. He had a great love for his Lord and Savior and shared that with everyone that he knew and met. He wanted each person to come to have that special relationship with God as he did. He is survived by 3 sons, Bobby Sanders and wife Melanie, Roy Sanders and wife Regina, Roger Sanders and wife Donna and daughter, Sherri Vines and husband Shane, several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his dad and mom, Oliver and Velma Sanders; his 2 brothers, Melvin Sanders and Calason Sanders; and his sister, Gloria Braggs. Viewing will take place on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 5:00pm to7:00pm at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. Mask will be required at the funeral home. Funeral service will be on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 1:00pm located at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens.
Names of pallbearers: Tommy Tucker, Harold Herring, Randy Atwood, Jerry Flippin, Jim McGowan and Mark Chamness. Honorary pallbearer will be Ray Tindall.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards his care givers at Ashton Medical Lodge, Jason Carrasco, Ashley Evans and Kristi Kemp.
