Guadalupe "Lupe" Hernandez

Guadalupe ‘’Lupe’’ Hernandez age 86 beloved husband of Nina Irene Hernandez of 62 years and loving father of 5 departed from his earthly life and made his way home to be with Jesus on Tuesday July 11th, 2023. Papa Lupe as he was fondly called was born December 11th 1937 in Chihuahua Mexico to Alberto Hernandez and Margarita Mendoza. He is preceded in death by his son Albert Hernandez of Midland Texas and his parents Alberto Hernandez, Margarita Mendoza and his brother Mariano Hernandez of Chihuahua Mexico. He is survived by his wife Nina Irene Hernandez of Midland, daughter Delia Garcia husband Fabian Garcia of Midland, daughter Marina Hernandez husband Alfred Hernandez of North Richland Hills Texas son Lupito ‘’Bobby” Hernandez wife Catrina Duran of Midland daughter Margaret Curnutte husband Sam Curnutte of Midland. 15 grandchildren 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Papa Lupe worked for Ellis’s funeral home for 30 years retiring at the age of 80. After retirement he spent his time working at his ranch playing the accordion, listening to music and tinkering around the house. He was such a hardworking family man with a contagious smile and laugh. His goofy personality always made the grandchildren chuckle. He loved singing and making up his own lyrics to his favorite songs. His departure has left a huge void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

 A celebration life will be held at Lewallen Garcia Pipkin funeral home; 2508 N. Big Spring ST., Midland, TX 79705

 Sunday July 16th 10am-9pm                                                                     

Rosary to start at 7pm

Funeral will take place Monday July 17th at San Miguel Arc’ Angel Catholic Church 1100 Camp Street Midland TX 79701 at 10:00 am. 

From there we will lay him to rest at Serenity Memorial Garden Cemetery, 6800 S Highway 349 Midland TX 79706
