Jeffrey Joe Durham

Jeffrey Joe Durham of Midland, Texas, went to be home with his Lord and Savior on his birthday, January 19th 2023. Jeff was born to Dallas and Betty Durham on January 19th, 1962, in South Pittsburg, TN.  He was 61 years old.  He was one of 3 children. Jeff was a middle child.  He moved with his family to Midland when he was in the 8th grade.  Jeff graduated from Midland High School in 1981.  After graduation he worked at many various jobs, including Jessie Refinishing and Restoration.  He later worked at Isabells Refinishing.  Jeff started refinishing furniture when he was 18.  Jerry Jones invited Jeff to a church activity.  Marilyn’s sister Marsha really wanted Jeff to come.  At the time he didn’t know he was being set up.  When Jeff got there Marsha told him that she wanted to introduce him to Marilyn.  Marsha went to school with Jeff and always claimed him as a brother.  Jeff and Marilyn met in early 1984.  Jeff married the love of his life Marilyn (Smith) Durham on June 2, 1984 at Kelview Heights Baptist Church.  They were so in love.  They were married 14 years before starting their family.  They had 2 boys – Cameron Durham and Benjamin Durham.  Jeff was a hard worker.  He had a servant’s heart.  Jeff would do anything asked of him, whether it was mowing yards, changing flats for church members or etc.  He drove the bus for church camp and for the past several years maintained all church buses and vehicles.   Volunteered for Christmas in Action.  He did so much for everyone in need.  Jeff was such a wonderful husband, father, brother–in-law, and friend.  Everyone who knew him loved and respected him.  He started working at Kelview Heights Baptist Church in April 1998.  He would have worked there 25 years this April.  He did so much at church, construction and maintenance. 

Jeff is survived by his wife Marilyn Durham of 38 years.  Two sons, Cameron Durham of Waco, TX and Benjamin Durham of Levelland, TX.  Parents – Dallas and the late Joyce Durham of Harrison, TN and Betty Durham of Georgia.  One brother Lloyd Durham of Whitwell, TN and one sister Janice Sisk of Georgia.  Several nieces, nephews, sister-in-law Marsha Sullivan and husband Danny Sullivan.

Viewing will be Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 12pm to 4pm with family receiving of friends from 5pm to 7pm at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 10am at Kelview Heights Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens.
