Jewel B O'Neal

J.B. O'Neal, 84, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 16, 2016. He was born March 1, 1932 in Eliasville, Texas to the late Arch and Jewel O'Neal. He married Shirley Leatherbury on March 23, 1966 in Midland, Texas. Throughout his life, he enjoyed working on race cars and going to the races with his sons, grandsons, and great-grandsons. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. J.B. was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Shirley O'Neal; parents, Arch and Jewel O'Neal; and by three sisters, Lula Mae Rutherford, Juanita Martin, and Katherine Russell. He is survived by five sons, James O'Neal of California, Ronnie O' Neal and wife Bonnie of Hydro, Oklahoma, Jackie Taylor and wife Judie of Oklahoma, Gary O'Neal and wife Sonya of Midland, and Donald Taylor and wife Denise of Borger, Texas; three daughters, Tina O'Neal of Midland, Vickie Brewer of Borger, Texas, and Diana Taylor of Midland; two brothers, Pat O' Neal of Tahoka, Texas and Vernon O'Neal of Marlow, Oklahoma; one sister, Estelle Harrison of Van Buren, Arkansas; grandson Ronnie O'Neal, Jr. and wife Della of Midland who were also caregivers for J.B.; amd by 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Viewing will be Monday, June 20, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. Receiving of friends will also be Monday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service has been set for Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel. Burial will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens.
