Jose Cortez Obituary
Jose Esteban Cortez Reyes entered eternal rest on Monday December 7,2020. Jose was born on December 28, 1954 in Oaxaca, Mexico. Jose spent most of his childhood in Juarez, Mexico where he then moved to Midland, TX with his growing family. He was a family oriented man. He did all he could to provide a better life for his family and children. Most of his career was in landscaping, which he absolutely loved. Jose adored his children but even more his grandchildren. Seeing everyone together is what made him the happiest.
He is survived by his wonderful mother Rosario Reyes Mayoral; his son Julio Cortez and his two daughters Caitlyn Cortez and Alyssa Cortez; his daughter Claudia Ronquillo and son in law Jose Ronquillo and their four children, Lluvia Navarrete, Raul Navarrete, Aracely Ronquillo, and Nayely Ronquillo; his daughter Michell Cortez and son in law Paul DeLaO and their two children Donaven and Audrina Tarango; and his youngest daughter Perla Munoz and son in law Jose Munoz and their son Joah Munoz; his loving partner Josefina Villa; his siblings Elisa Vasquez, Amelia Reyes, Lorenzo Reyes, Jesus Reyes, Javier Reyes, Sonia Reyes, Guadalupe Reyes, and Julio Reyes. He is preceded in death by his siblings Manuel Cortez Reyes, Celso Reyes, Francisco Reyes, Apolinar Reyes and Gloria Josefina Reyes.
He is forever loved and cherished by all his family, and will be missed dearly.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. Viewing will be at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel on Sunday December 13, 2020 from 10am-9pm. Rosary will also be held Sunday evening at 7pm. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Monday December 14, 2020 at 10am.
