Jose P Sanchez

Jose P Sanchez, 73 of Midland passed away on September 13th following a lengthy illness. 

Jose was born on July 15, 1951 in Laredo TX to the late Maria Valdez and Alfredo Sanchez.   He moved to Midland as a child in the early 50’s where he attended school.  He worked in the restaurant industry for over 30 years including Tampico Spanish Inn and Jorge’s Mexican Restaurant.

Jose was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and was always looking forward to the upcoming game time and ready to play his beloved football boards.   He was a faithful servant of Christ and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe where he attended mass every Saturday come rain or shine often walking to church or catching a ride with many of the parishioners.

Jose is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Valdez Gonzales, his father Alfredo Sanchez, brother Alfred Sanchez and brother-in-law Antonio (Tony) Revilla.  He is survived by his daughter, Juanita Sanchez,  a son, Jose Sanchez Jr. and five grandchildren all from Atwater CA , his sisters Mary Garcia and Norma Revilla and brother, Adan Gonzales (Helen Gonzales) all of Midland and various nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 1:00pm to 9:00pm with a rosary to begin at 7:00pm Tuesday evening at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. 

Funeral mass is set for Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish & Shrine. Burial will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens

Pallbearers for the service will be Anthony Revilla,  Adrian Revilla,  Thomas Gonzales,  Alfredo Sanchez Jr.,  Raymond Sanchez and Raul Lujan.
