Margaret Hernandez Obituary

Margaret Larez Hernandez, wonderful wife, mother, Wela, Mama Mage, and Gigi slipped away peacefully from her earthly body to go to her heavenly home on Thursday November 15, 2018 at 83 years of age. She was born in Midland, Texas on February 19, 1935 to Rosendo and Maria Larez. Margaret was a life long resident of Midland, TX. She married Fermin Hernandez on September 16, 1950 and they shared 68 years together. Left to cherish her memory is her son Sam L. Hernandez and wife Gloria S. Hernandez, her daughter Paula Torres and husband Pete Torres, Her son John Phillip Hernandez, her daughter Mary Olgin and husband Jesse Olgin, Jr. She had 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents Rosendo and Maria Larez, her son Edward Hernandez (Eddie). Margaret was the director of operations at Casa De Amigos for 35 years. As the director, she helped countless number of people in her community. Margaret never met a stranger and would go above and beyond to help anyone in need. Her hobbies consisted of making ceramics, knitting, shopping and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was a Guadalupana, a member of Legion of Mary and a member of the Alter Society. Rosary is to be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 7p.m. at Heavenly Gate Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Michael Salgado, David Salgado, Jesse Olgin III, Alex Gonzalez and Eric Esparza. The Family would like to thank Hospice of Midland and The Younger Unit at Manor Park for their compassionate care of our loving mother.
