Phyllis Lewis

The family of Mrs. Phyllis (Davis) Lewis sadly announces her passing on Saturday, March 4, 2023 in Houston, Texas. Phyllis, who was lovingly known as “Doll”, was born in Midland, Texas on May 23, 1960 to Nathaniel and Albertha Davis. She attended Midland Public Schools and graduated from Midland High School in 1978.

Phyllis was a hairstylist and salon owner for over 25 years. She was well known for her passion for gardening and entertaining family and friends. Throughout her life, Phyllis was a selfless and generous “Good Samaritan” who was always there to advocate for those in need.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Larry E. Lewis, her daughters, Chloe L. Lewis and Candace C. Lewis of Austin, TX, her sisters, DeRinda Williams (Terry) of Ontario, CA, Debra Davis of Stillwater, OK, and Helen Price of Midland, TX, and her brothers Gary Davis of North Las Vegas, NV, Johnny Davis of Magnolia, TX and Bill Woodard (Maxine) of Houston, TX and a hosts of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Esther Davis, and her brother, Russell Price.

The family will receive guests from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2023 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.  Phyllis’ life will be celebrated at a service on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mid-Cities Church in Midland, Texas. Pallbearers are Paul Burditt, Eric Lacy, Rene Marquez, Greg Parks, Manuel Torres, and Gary Wilcox. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Davis, Johnny Davis, Bill Woodard, and Terry Williams.

The family suggests memorials be donated to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
