Rodolfo (Rudy) Chavez Garcia

Rodolfo (Rudy) Chavez Garcia, (Conda) of Midland, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at his residence in Midland, Texas surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sanderson, Texas to Adolfo and Natividad Garcia, June 23, 1931, one of five children. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Louisa Perez Garcia. He is survived by his loving children, Corina Urias (Gummy),  Viola Flores (Reimundo, ‘Mundo’); Rodolfo "Rudy" Garcia, Jr., (Carol) from San Antonio, Texas, Ricky Garcia, (Lupe) and Michael Garcia (Patricia) from Odessa, Texas.  Also, Olivia (Vivi) Flores, his niece who was raised amongst his own children.  Affectionately he was referred to as “Tito” by his roots and he will continue to live through multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren, and nephews and nieces. Our Father was an awesome, caring, inspiring, committed and loving man. 

Rudy worked the majority of his life in the Energy sector.

He was a living legend not only to his children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, but also to the extended family members and hundreds in the community. He was known for his belief in God, love for his wife, children, good old fashion work ethic - sometimes working as many as 3 jobs at one time to provide for his family, a life-time Dallas Cowboy fan and the self-appointed Spruce Street Neighborhood Watch friend. 

His employment reputation for dependability, trustworthiness and life long connections was made evident in his employment with the City of Midland, Tom Brown Inc., and Joe and Molly Parsley.  

We would like to thank the outpouring of love, prayers and support throughout this time. Special thanks for the friends who cared for our father with special mention to the Midland County Fire Department, Dr. Premila Johnson, and the many other members of his healthcare team, the Spruce Street friends and the many hospitality angels we will never know.

Wednesday, January 8, 2025, 11 am - 12 pm, family viewing and 12 pm - 9 pm for public viewing.

Rosary will be held on Wednesday, January 8,  7:00 pm at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel in Midland, Texas.

Public Viewing on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 9:30 am - 1:00 pm, at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel in Midland, Texas.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Midland, Texas, Thursday, January 9 at 2:00 p.m., in Midland, Texas. Interment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens in Midland, Texas.
