Ruben “Shorty” Aranda Aguirre, age 62, peacefully went to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 29, 2025. He was born in Las Conchas, Chihuahua, Mexico to Maximo and Alicia Aguirre and raised in Midland, Texas. Ruben spent most of his days as a framer and was always enwrapped in handyman projects. He was the owner of Ruben Aguirre Construction, where he built dream homes for his clients. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Ruben married the love of his life, Berlinda Cordova Aguirre, and together they had four children. He was a fountain of love and laughter to everyone he encountered. He was always there to lend a helping hand and had a servant heart. When he wasn’t working in a tractor at his ranch or fixing something in his garage, he was spending time with family and sharing many stories and life lessons with those who surrounded him. On Sundays, you would find him cheering on his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, and listening to music while spending quality time with his loved ones.
Ruben is survived by his son, Ruben “Chapito” Aguirre Jr. (Guadalupe) of Midland, daughters Amanda Aguirre of Las Vegas, Erica Belloc (Eduardo) of Midland, and Brenda Avelar (Mark) of Midland.
