Sergio Estrada Jr. Obituary

Sergio Alfredo Estrada “Freddy,” 57, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2026, in Midland, Texas. He was born on May 3, 1969, in Presidio, Texas, to Alfredo and Maria Estrada.

Freddy’s life was a testament to laughter, hard work, and unconditional love.

Anyone who knew Freddy knew there was never a dull moment when he was around. He had a natural way of making people laugh and lighting up every room with his humor, quick wit, and larger-than-life personality. He was truly the life of the party and never met a stranger. His kindness, laughter, and ability to bring people together will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Freddy was extremely hardworking and took great pride in everything he did. From his younger days working at the service station in Kermit to the many years he spent working long hours in the oilfield, he built a life centered around providing for his family. No matter how demanding the work or how long the hours, Freddy always showed up, gave his all, and did what needed to be done without complaint. To him, work was never just a job — it was how he cared for the people he loved most. He would jokingly remind everyone about those “6 a.m. to 6 p.m.” shifts, but behind the humor was a man whose dedication and work ethic never wavered. Over the years, Freddy earned the respect and friendship of countless coworkers, many of whom he stayed in touch with and continued checking on even after leaving the workforce. His loyalty, strength, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Above all else, Freddy was most proud of his family. Being a grandfather brought him a special kind of joy, and his love for his newest grandbaby was immediate. He treasured every moment, every smile, and every opportunity to share the pride he felt for his growing family and the accomplishments of his grandchildren. He beamed with pride over his only grandson attending West Texas A&M University, his sunshine who is a soon-to-be high school graduate, and “our Ady girl,” his soccer star. Freddy was also an incredibly proud father who loved his children wholeheartedly and found his greatest purpose in being their dad. The love, guidance, and devotion he poured into his family will forever be remembered and carried on for generations to come.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angie, and his four children: Olga (Adrian), Karina (Michael), Carlos, and Martin. He will be deeply missed by his four grandchildren: Adriel, Dulce, Adaly, and Evvie June. He also leaves behind his loving mother, Maria Estrada; his siblings, LuzMaria (Larry), Mariela, and Victor (Letty); along with many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Freddy’s memory will live on through his family, whose lives were enriched by his strength, faith in God, and unconditional love.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his father, Alfredo Estrada; his brother, Martin Estrada; and his sister-in-law, Sandra Highfield.

Visitation will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the Rosary being held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Freddy’s life will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Stonegate Fellowship Church Building F, with interment to follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

While our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing that Freddy is now resting without pain or worry in the arms of Jesus. His legacy of love, laughter, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to shine through all who were blessed to know and love him.

The Estrada family sincerely thanks everyone for the prayers, food, calls, messages, and love shown to us during this difficult time. Your support and kindness have meant so much to our family.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff and friends at Fresenius Kidney Care in Midland. Your compassion, care, and support meant more to Freddy and our family than words can express, and we are deeply grateful for each of you.
