Silveria Cuellar Obituary

Silveria “Mami” Espinoza Cuellar, 88, of Midland, TX passed away on January 24, 2023. She was born on December 19, 1934 in Colorado City, TX to the late Alberto and Angelita Espinoza.

She was raised working in the cotton fields where she met the love of her life, Maximo Cuellar Sr. In 1963, they made Midland their home and the place where they raised their 5 daughters and 1 son.

One of the many things Mami enjoyed doing was cooking. She made some of the best tamales anyone ever had. When she wasn’t cooking or spending time with people, she loved being outside with her plants, as she had a green thumb when it came to gardening. Nothing kept her from doing the things she loved. She was the rock of her family and one of the strongest women they had ever known.

She is survived by her four daughters: Sylvia Cuellar of Midland, TX; Yolanda E. Cuellar of New Braunfels, TX; Vicky Sandoval and partner Peter Ybarra of Midland, TX; and Rosalinda Montero and husband Rigo Montero of New Braunfels, TX. She is also survived by her brothers Juan Espinoza and Pancho Espinoza, both of Plano, TX; sister Mary “Kello” Sanchez of Midland,TX; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alberto and Angelina Espinoza; husband Maximo Cuellar Sr; son Maximo Cuellar Jr; daughter Rosie Cuellar; great-granddaughter Ralphie Diaz and numerous brothers and sisters.

Viewing will be on January 30, 2023 at Lewallen Pipkin Funeral home from 10 am - 9 pm following a Rosary at 7 pm.  Funeral services will be on January 31, 2023 at 2 pm with Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe, followed by a burial at Serenity Memorial Gardens.
