Susan Chaney born Susan Lynell Brown, a resident of Midland, Texas died unexpectedly on April 28th, 2018 at the age of 58. Susan passed away peacefully while asleep. Susan is survived by her spouse Raymond Ramirez of Midland, her mother Sunny Brown of Midland, her son John Paul Reyes of Midland, her daughter-in-law Amber Bowen of Arlington and her grandchildren: Issac Srubar, Brandon Scott, Kyrie Hamilton, Jubilation Hamilton and Raistlin Hamilton. Susan is also survived by her brother Mark Brown of Midland, her sister Cheryl Valenzuela of Midland, her brother-in-law Sam Valenzuela of Midland, her sister-in-law Linda Brown of Midland and her nieces and nephews: Nicholas Brown of Odessa, Marissa Hoelscher of Lubbock, Sam Valenzuela of Midland and Jacob Valenzuela of Midland, and many aunts and uncles. Susan is predeceased by her father Glen Brown, her son Rodney Lee Hamilton, her brother Rickey Brown, her paternal grandparents Forrest and LaFloy Brown and her maternal grandparents Oz and Dolores Nies. Susan was born on March 19th 1960, in Dumas Texas, to the late Glen Brown and Sunny Brown, currently residing in Midland, TX. Susan moved to Midland with her family in 1962 on her birthday. As a child Susan spent many of her summers visiting a farm owned by her paternal grandparents in the panhandle. On the farm, Susan developed a love of gardening and a deep appreciation for all types of animals. She fondly recalled riding her pet cow Sweet Mama and chasing after lizards. These traits served her well in life as she became a skilled gardener and had a very special relationship with her dog Cookie. Susan was also an accomplished artist, winning many competitions in her youth. She especially had a fondness for charcoal sketchings. Susan attended Robert E. Lee High School. For many years, she worked as a service writer in the automotive industry. While married to Rudy Reyes II, she adopted John Paul into her generous heart. She became a devoted mother who took care of her family and always had time to listen. In her 50's, Susan reconnected with her lost love, Raymond Ramirez. Susan spent the last of her years with Raymond and her dog Cookie. She loved to travel to Arlington to visit her beloved grandchildren and catch a Rangers game. Susan was a die-hard Texas Rangers fan and some of her favorite moments were spent at the Rangers Ball Park. Susan was a wild soul with an amazing heart. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who knew her. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00a.m. on Friday May 4th at the Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home at 2508 Big Spring St. in Midland, TX. A viewing will be held the day before on Thursday May 3rd from 10:00a.m. - 9:00p.m. and a Rosary is scheduled for 7pm on Thursday night. All are welcome to attend the services.
