Thurman Paul Hayes, 74, of Midland, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Midland. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 3:00 p.m at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel with burial to follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Thurman was born on April 7, 1942 to Kathryn and Edward "Edgar" Hayes in Sweetwater, Texas. He was a proud Marine and felt honored to have served in the Marine Corps for six years. He had a strong work ethic which resulted in work being his hobby. He was truly happy while working and loved what he did. If there was a job that needed to be done you could count on him to show up and get it done. He loved his family and was thankful he could spend more time with them in recent years. He was proud of all his kids and grandkids accomplishments and achievements. He was quiet, laid back and easy going. He touched the life of every person he met and he never met a stranger. He was fortunate to work with the same group of guys for 30+ years of whom became a part of our family. He is survived by his wife, Ann Hayes of Midland, TX; son, Ruddee Harris and wife Suzie of Midland, TX; daughter, Kari Leib and husband Jeff of Las Vegas, NV; son, Rickee Harris and Christy Tucker of Gunter, TX; Renèe Heflin and husband Bryan of Monahans, TX; daughter, Feather Bethany and husband, Shawn of Odessa, TX; brother, Carlton Hayes and wife Brenda of El Paso, TX; sister Corene Ketchum and husband Arthur of San Antonio, TX; 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kathryn and Edgar Hayes. Pallbearers will be Carlton Hayes, Roy Don Melton, Mike Doolittle, Jay Roemisch, Powell Box and Tommy Vineyard. The family would like to express their gratitude towards the staff on the 5th floor of MMH CCU and Continued Care at West Campus, as well as, Dr. PK Patel for his continued care and attentive nature with him.
